  1. Heat the oil and the butter and fry the meat until it turns brown then add the onions and cook until they turn golden. Take off the onions and set them aside.
  2. Add the chickpeas, spices, tomato and pepper paste and stir well. Add the water, cover the pan and cook until the meat is tender. Then add the onion and cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes until the meat is well cooked and the onion turn tender. Serve with rice pilaf.
